About

About Do You Know Cancer

Do You Know Cancer, or DYKC, was founded on the idea that information can be the best form of cancer prevention.  DYKC  is focused on providing the latest in cancer news for all people, including cancer patients and survivors. In addition, DYKC provides information about the latest cancer treatment methods, as well as information about top oncologists and cancer clinics.

Our Mission

The goal of DYKC is to inform and empower people in an effort to increase awareness of all types of cancer. We believe that information is the best form of cancer prevention, and by raising awareness of the causes of cancer, we hope to decrease the number of individuals diagnosed.

Our People

Adam Jones, Founder & Cancer Awareness Coordinator: DYKC was founded in 2009 by Adam Jones, a young man who, like the majority of people across the globe, knows cancer because many of his friends and family have been diagnosed. Adam’s goal is to use Internet social media to increase awareness of various types of cancer.

Katie Adler, Cancer Awareness Assistant: Katie’s role at DYKC is to assist Adam with the upkeep of our various social media accounts, including our Facebook page. Katie, like Adam, knows cancer because she has seen friends and family go through cancer treatment. Both Katie and Adam reach out to other people who know cancer with the goal of sharing unique cancer experiences on the DYKC website.

Nate Chetelli, Editor: Nate works with Adam on DKYC’s news and blog, with the goal of providing the very best in cancer-related news. Nate knows cancer because his father battled prostate cancer in 2008. Since then, Nate has been active in local cancer charities and hopes to one day start a foundation in his father’s name.

Meg Mesmer, Web Assistant: Meg is the DYKC web guru, assisting with upkeep of doyouknowcancerblog.com. Meg, too, knows cancer, as a few of her friends have battled various types of cancer. Meg’s favorite cancer organization is Susan G. Komen for Cure® and she participates in her local Race for the Cure® each year.
